        Chase City is ideally located in Mecklenburg County in the Southern Piedmont section of Virginia.         Mecklenburg County enjoys a wide variety of sports and recreation. Buggs Island Lake with its 800 miles of shoreline provides opportunities to boat, fish, camp, swim, picnic, hike, and hunt. Special events including major fishing tournaments and the Occoneechee Native American Pow Wow are held annually. Chase City is the host of the South Central Fair that is held on the third week of September and the Southern Virginia Classic Benefit Horse Show.

        Chase City enjoys the status as a "Quality of Life Community". Civic, cultural and fraternal organizations are an active part of the community's lifestyle; MacCallum More Museum and Gardens, the Archaeological Society of Virginia, Ruritans, Lions International, Masonic Lodges, Jacees, Virginia Historical Society, Friends of the Library and active garden and woman's clubs. All Protestant denominations are represented among the active churches of Chase City.
